  • Support Stocking fitting
    • We will measure your legs to ensure the correct style and size is chosen. If your legs are often swollen they should be measured in the morning when the swelling is minimal. Compressions stockings are designed to improve your circulation by steadily squeezing your legs, often tightest at the ankle and gradually easing off as they go further up your leg. This encourages the blood to flow up towards the heart. Compression stockings are available in a variety of different sizes, colours and pressures. During a compression hosiery consultation we will help measure, choose and fit the right hosiery for you. Your consultation will be carried out in one of our private consultation rooms, and new measurements will be taken each time you need new hosiery.
    • Our healthcare advisor will help you:
Understand the different types and classes of hosiery available: To make it easier for you to make the right choice, you can look at samples in store.
Learn how to put on and take off your hosiery: It's important to follow the manufacturers' instructions for each type of hosiery. If you need any help, you can pick up an application aid to use at home.
Learn how to care for your hosiery: If you follow the manufacturers' instructions, two pairs of hosiery should last you for up to six months.
  • Contraceptive advice / Morning-after pill
    • Emergency contraceptive pills are available directly from a Pharmacy without a Doctor's prescription to women over 16 years of age, subject to meeting certain criteria.
If you think you need emergency contraception, it's important to act quickly.
Emergency contraception is a safe, effective and responsible method of preventing pregnancy when regular contraception has failed or if no contraception was used Emergency contraception (sometimes described as the morning after pill) can be effective up to 72 hours after unprotected sex but is more effective the sooner you use it.
Remember, emergency contraception cannot protect against a sexually transmitted infection.
Talk to your Pharmacist or Doctor if you have any questions about STI's or visit for more information. Pharmacists have been trained to treat requests for emergency contraception professionally and confidentially. The Pharmacist will need to ask a few simple questions before you are given Norlevo 1.5mg*. This will help the Pharmacist ensure that Emergency Contraceptive pill is suitable for you to use. If for any reason it is not suitable, the Pharmacist will direct you another source of help and support. Some of the reasons it may not be suitable to supply Norlevo 1.5mg include:
      • Too much time has passed for the medicine to be effective
      • You are taking other medicines that interact with Norlevo 1.5mg
      • You have an existing medical condition that means it is not safe to take Norlevo 1.5mg
      • Your last period was irregular in some way
You will be supplied with the medication, along with advice from the Pharmacist on how it should be taken. Your Pharmacist will also offer you advice on the options available for long-term methods of contraception. *Norlevo 1.5mg should not replace regular, long-term contraception. Always read the label.
