Canesten Cream

With its proven effectiveness, Canesten has become a trusted name in the field of antifungal treatments.

Featuring an effective anti-fungal ingredient Clotrimazole, Canesten Cream acts quickly to eliminate the root cause of the fungal infection in the skin while providing relief from symptoms such as itching. Whether you're struggling with ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, or fungal nappy rash, Canesten Cream can help.

If used correctly Canesten Anti-Fungal cream can provide fast relief and protection against the infection reoccurring.

The effectiveness of Canesten against fungal infections

Canesten has gained a reputation for its effectiveness in treating a wide range of fungal infections, but it is best known for treating Thrush, which is a fungal infection that primarily affects a women's intimate area. However, Canesten 1% Cream can also be used on a range of other fungal skin infections. The active ingredient clotrimazole penetrates the affected area, attacking the fungi and preventing further growth. This targeted approach ensures that the infection is treated swiftly and effectively.

Studies have shown that Canesten is highly effective in treating common fungal infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch, fungal nappy rash and ringworm. The medication not only relieves itching and discomfort but also eliminates the root cause of the infection, preventing it from recurring. We usually recommend using the cream for 4-5 days after the symptoms have disappeared to help prevent reoccurrence. Daktarin is also highly effective at treating these fungal skin conditions, but due to recent supply issues, many people have been asking their pharmacists for an alternative.

How to use Canesten Cream on different types of fungal infections and rash

For athlete's foot, a common fungal infection that affects the feet, It is important to thoroughly clean and dry the affected area before applying the product. The cream should be applied in a thin layer, gently massaging it into the skin until fully absorbed.

In the case of jock itch, which typically affects the groin area, Canesten Cream is often the preferred choice. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area two or three times daily, ensuring complete coverage. An alternative is Lamisil

Ringworm, a fungal infection that appears as a circular rash on the skin, and fungal nappy rash, can be effectively treated with Canesten Cream. Again, clean and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of cream. Gently massage it into the skin until fully absorbed. Repeat this process two or three times daily.

The duration of the treatment depends upon the type of infection. Generally, a minimum of two weeks is required, although up to four weeks may be necessary. The symptoms of skin infection, such as itching or soreness, should improve within a few days of treatment although signs such as redness and scaling may take longer to disappear. If no improvement is seen after four weeks, you must tell your doctor.
