Acic Cold Sore 5% Cream is an antiviral medicine containing aciclovir 5% w/w, used to treat cold sores caused by the herpes simplex virus in adults and children. Apply at the first sign of a cold sore — the tingling or itching sensation — to help reduce the duration and severity of the outbreak. Not suitable for purchase online by those under 16 years of age.

How to Use

1. Wash your hands and the affected area thoroughly before applying.
2. Use a cotton bud to apply a thin layer of cream to the cold sore and the surrounding area approximately every 4 hours during the day — usually 5 times daily.
3. If using fingers instead of a cotton bud, wash hands thoroughly before and after application to avoid spreading the virus.
4. Begin treatment as soon as you notice the first signs of a cold sore (tingling, itching or redness).
5. Use for at least 4 days. If the cold sore has not healed after 4 days, continue for up to 6 more days (10 days total).
6. If the cold sore has not healed after 10 days, stop using the cream and consult your doctor.
