Alpecin Tuning Caffeine Shampoo is the first-of-its-kind pigmented caffeine shampoo designed for dark hair showing the first signs of grey. Dark colour pigments attach to the outside of the hair during washing, helping maintain and gradually intensify its darker appearance. The effect builds with regular use and gradually washes out when ordinary shampoo is used.

The formula also contains Alpecin's Caffeine Complex alongside zinc and niacinamide. The manufacturer states that caffeine can be detected in the hair roots after approximately 120 seconds of contact time.
