Beconase Hayfever Nasal Spray

Beconase Hayfever Nasal Spray helps prevent and relieve the nasal symptoms of hayfever and allergic rhinitis, including sneezing and a runny, itchy or blocked nose. It contains beclometasone dipropionate, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling inside the nose.

How to Use

Shake gently before use. Before first use, press the pump several times until a fine spray appears. Blow your nose gently, close one nostril and place the nozzle into the other. Keep the bottle upright and tilt your head slightly forward. Breathe in slowly through your nose while pressing the pump once, then breathe out through your mouth. Repeat as required in each nostril.

The usual dose is two sprays into each nostril every morning and evening. Once symptoms improve, the dose may be reduced to one spray into each nostril every morning and evening. Do not use more than 8 sprays in a day. Follow the instructions in the enclosed patient information leaflet.

If symptoms have not improved within 14 days, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use for longer than 3 months unless directed by your doctor. Use within 3 months of first opening.

Warnings and Precautions

• Not for anyone under 18 years of age.
• Do not use if you are allergic to beclometasone dipropionate or any other ingredient.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have a nasal infection or ulcers, or have recently had nasal surgery or an injury.
• Tell your pharmacist about other medicines you take, particularly ritonavir or cobicistat, which can increase the effects of this medicine.
• Seek medical advice if you experience blurred vision or other changes to your sight.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects include brief sneezing after use, an unpleasant taste or smell, nosebleeds, and irritation of the nose or throat. Stop using the spray and get medical help immediately if you develop signs of an allergic reaction, such as a rash, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing. Ingredients

Each spray contains beclometasone dipropionate 50 micrograms. Other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, dextrose, polysorbate 80, purified water, benzalkonium chloride and phenylethyl alcohol.
