Bronchostop is a traditional herbal medicinal product formulated to relieve a range of coughs, including chesty, dry, tickly and irritating coughs, as well as catarrh. Its traditional use is based on a combination of thyme herb extract and marshmallow root extract.

Thyme helps support the clearance of mucus in chesty coughs, while marshmallow provides a soothing effect for an irritated throat and dry cough. The syrup is non-drowsy and alcohol-free, suitable for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

How to Use

Adults, the elderly and adolescents over 12 years: Using the measuring cup provided, take 15ml every 4 hours, 4 times daily.

If required, up to a maximum of 6 doses (90ml) per day may be taken. The syrup can be taken undiluted or diluted in water or warm tea.

Do not exceed the stated dose. If symptoms worsen or have not improved after 7 days, consult a doctor or other appropriate healthcare professional.

Ingredients

Each 15ml (16.7g) contains: Thyme Herb Dry Extract 120mg (from Thymus vulgaris L. and Thymus zygis L. herb, DER 7–13:1, extraction solvent: water) and Marshmallow Root Syrup 3.35g containing Marshmallow Root Liquid Extract 830mg (from Althaea officinalis L. root, DER 1:12–14, extraction solvent: water).

Other ingredients include Maltodextrin, Acacia (E414), Xylitol (E967), Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E218), Raspberry Juice Concentrate, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid Monohydrate, Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E216), Raspberry Flavour and Purified Water. The raspberry flavour contains propylene glycol (E1520); the raspberry juice concentrate contains sucrose, glucose and fructose.

• Do not take if you are allergic to marshmallow root, thyme, other members of the Lamiaceae family (such as basil, rosemary or sage) or any of the other ingredients.
• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Seek medical advice if you develop shortness of breath, fever or purulent sputum, or if symptoms worsen or persist for longer than 7 days.
• Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), which may cause allergic reactions that can potentially be delayed.
• Contains sugars derived from raspberry juice concentrate.
• Store below 25°C. Close the bottle tightly after use and use within 4 weeks of opening. Keep in original packaging.
