Canespro Fungal Nail Treatment Set

Canespro Fungal Nail Treatment Set uses 40% urea ointment to soften fungus-infected nail tissue so it can be gently removed with the supplied scraper. From the makers of Canesten, the set includes ointment, waterproof plasters and a plastic nail scraper for the nail-removal stage of treatment.

This stage typically takes 2–3 weeks. Follow-up treatment with an appropriate antifungal cream is needed afterwards, as directed in the leaflet or by your pharmacist. Removal of infected nail tissue does not mean a healthy nail has fully regrown.

How It Works

The urea ointment softens the affected part of the nail for gradual removal, while leaving healthy nail tissue intact. One set is intended to treat one large toenail or two smaller nails.

What's in the Set

• 10g tube of Canespro 40% Urea Ointment
• 22 single-use waterproof plasters
• 1 plastic nail scraper

How to Use

Read the enclosed leaflet before use and follow its full instructions. Wash hands before and after treatment.

1. Apply a thin layer of urea ointment to the affected nail, following the preparation instructions in the leaflet.
2. Cover the treated nail with one of the supplied waterproof plasters and leave covered for 24 hours.
3. Remove the plaster. After soaking as directed in the leaflet, or after a bath or shower, gently scrape off the softened nail tissue using the supplied plastic scraper.
4. Repeat daily, usually for 2–3 weeks, until no further infected nail tissue can be removed.

After nail removal, continue with an appropriate antifungal cream for 4 weeks, following the leaflet and your pharmacist's advice. The follow-up cream is not listed among the contents of this set.

Precautions

• Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ointment ingredients.
• Do not use with other topical nail products, including nail varnish.
• Consult a doctor before use on children.
• For external use on fingernails and toenails only.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and surrounding skin.
• Do not swallow or put in the mouth.
• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Ask your pharmacist if you are unsure whether your nail changes are caused by a fungal infection or which follow-up treatment to use.
