Which Skin Tags Can Be Treated?

Only use Dr. Yglo when you are confident the growth is a skin tag. The manufacturer says a suitable tag should be 2-6mm in size, similar in colour to the surrounding skin, soft and flexible, and raised from the skin on a small stalk or stem. If you are uncertain whether a growth is a skin tag, have it assessed by a doctor or pharmacist before attempting to freeze it.

How It Works

The aerosol contains 100% dimethyl ether (DME). Activating the device rapidly cools the metal tip. Holding this frozen tip against the skin tag freezes its tissue; a blister may subsequently develop beneath the tag, and the treated tag should eventually fall away.

How to Use

1. Place a disposable protective foam disc over the skin so that the skin tag sits through the centre opening.
2. Insert the applicator into the aerosol docking station as instructed, place the can on a hard surface and press the applicator down for 5 seconds.
3. Allow it to rest for another 5 seconds, then carefully remove the applicator without touching its frozen metal tip.
4. Place the metal tip directly against the skin tag for 40 seconds, covering as much of the tag as possible.
5. Remove and discard the protective disc after treatment. Do not reactivate the device for at least five minutes.

After Treatment

Some stinging, aching, itching, redness or blistering can occur after freezing. Keep the area clean and do not pick, scratch or puncture a blister. Swimming and showering are permitted. If part of the tag remains after two weeks, another treatment can be given, but do not treat the same tag more than three times.

When Not to Use

• Do not use on the face, mucous membranes, genitals or other thin or sensitive skin.
• Do not use on inflamed, infected or irritated skin, or on moles, birthmarks, warts or unidentified skin growths.
• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, if under 18, or if you have diabetes or poor circulation.
• Avoid healthy skin and the eyes, and use only in a well-ventilated area.
• Incorrect use can cause serious cold burns or permanent scarring.
• If uncertain about a growth, seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist before use.
