Dr. Yglo Wart Acid Treatment is a strong, targeted at-home treatment for common warts on the hands and feet. It contains 50% monochloroacetic acid (MCA), a powerful keratolytic acid that breaks down wart tissue layer by layer. Unlike daily wart preparations, Dr. Yglo is applied only once per week, with a precision applicator designed to place a very small amount directly onto the wart.
Key Benefits
- Designed specifically for common warts on the hands and feet.
- Contains maximum-strength 50% monochloroacetic acid.
- Breaks down wart tissue layer by layer.
- Fast-acting liquid penetrates hardened wart tissue.
- Precision applicator allows targeted treatment.
- Applied just once per week.
- Generally painless when applied correctly to the wart.
- Suitable for adults and children aged 4 years and over, with an adult applying it for children.
- An alternative to freezing and cryotherapy treatments.
How It Works
Monochloroacetic Acid (MCA) - 50%: A powerful acid with a keratolytic action. Once applied, it progressively breaks down the layers of the wart and destroys affected cells containing the wart virus. The treated surface takes approximately one week to break down, so an immediate visible result should not be expected. Depending on the wart's thickness and size, another application may be required after one week.
How to Use
- Before opening the bottle, generously protect the healthy skin surrounding the wart with petroleum jelly such as Vaseline or zinc ointment.
- Place the bottle on a firm, acid-resistant surface and open the child-resistant cap by pressing down while turning anticlockwise.
- Using the supplied applicator, carefully place one small dab of solution directly onto the wart. Do not allow it to drip and do not dab the wart more than once during the treatment.
- Allow the liquid to dry and leave the wart uncovered.
- Close the bottle securely immediately afterwards.
Wait one week before considering another application. Do not apply more than once weekly.
When Not to Use
- Do not use on the face, genital area, mucous membranes, plantar warts or verrucas.
- Do not use on moles, birthmarks, molluscum contagiosum, open wounds, brown or senile warts, dark, hairy or unusual-looking growths.
- Do not use on infected or irritated warts, or warts located wholly or partly beneath a nail.
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding or on children under 4 years old.
- Do not apply immediately after surgical wart removal, freezing or laser treatment. Wait at least four weeks and until redness or inflammation has completely resolved.
- People with diabetes or vascular or circulatory conditions should consult a doctor before use because wounds may heal less readily.
Ingredients
- Monochloroacetic Acid - 50%: The active acidic ingredient responsible for breaking down wart tissue.
- Purified Water - 50%: Forms the liquid base of the preparation.
Important Safety Information
- The solution is highly caustic. Contact with healthy skin can cause irritation, burning, redness and potentially more significant tissue injury.
- Protect the surrounding skin and apply only a tiny amount directly to the wart.
- Avoid all contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
- Do not share the product between different people because warts are contagious.
- If a wart persists, multiplies or repeatedly returns despite treatment, or if you are uncertain that the growth is a common wart, have it assessed by a doctor or pharmacist.
