How EarPlanes Work

Inside each plug is the CeramX™ micro-ceramic filter. During rapid pressure changes, it slows the rate at which pressure changes reach the ear, giving the eardrum more time to adjust — reducing the discomfort typically associated with take-off and descent.

EarPlanes+ App

The free EarPlanes+ app uses your smartphone’s built-in barometric-pressure sensor to monitor cabin pressure throughout the flight. It sends an alert when pressure becomes unstable, letting you know exactly when to insert the plugs. Works in airplane mode without Wi-Fi or mobile data.

How to Use

1. Reach over the head with the opposite hand and gently pull the top of the ear upward to help straighten the ear canal.
2. Insert the ribbed end of the EarPlane and gently rotate it, like a corkscrew, until a comfortable, snug seal is formed.
3. Insert before take-off and landing and leave in until cabin pressure has stabilised, or insert immediately when the app sends a pressure alert.

Children should use EarPlanes+ with adult assistance and supervision.

Replacement

Replace after approximately 4–6 flights. The microscopic pores in the CeramX™ filter can gradually become clogged by dust and airborne particles, reducing its effectiveness over time.
