How to Use

• For oral use.
• Adults and children over 12 years: Initially take 15ml three times daily. When the mucus starts to clear, reduce to 10ml three times daily.
• Children 6–12 years: Give 5ml two to three times daily.
• Children 2–5 years: Give 2.5ml two to three times daily.
• Children under 2 years: Do not give except on the instruction of a doctor.
• If symptoms persist for more than one week, consult a doctor.

Ingredients

Each 5ml contains: Carbocisteine 250mg.

Other ingredients include levomenthol, ethanol, saccharin sodium, sunset yellow FCF (E110), sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E215), sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E217), sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219), citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, carmellose sodium, glycerol, orange flavour, condensed milk flavour and purified water.

Suitable for adults and children from 2 years of age for respiratory conditions characterised by excessive or viscous mucus. Children under 2 years should only receive Exputex on a doctor’s instruction.

Warnings

• Do not take if you are allergic to carbocisteine or any of the ingredients, or if you have an active peptic ulcer.
• Use caution and seek professional advice if you have a history of peptic ulceration.
• Should not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.
• Contains sunset yellow (E110) and parahydroxybenzoates (E215, E217, E219), which may cause allergic reactions.
• Contains a small quantity of ethanol and sodium. The 15ml adult dose contains 100mg sodium — consider this if following a controlled-sodium diet.
• Once opened, use within one month.
• Store below 25°C. Keep the bottle in its original carton to protect from light.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
