Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use Lyclear® Crème Rinse?
- Check dry hair thoroughly using a fine-toothed lice comb.
- Apply the product according to the package instructions.
- Leave on for the recommended treatment time.
- Rinse as directed.
- Comb carefully through wet hair to remove lice and nits.
- Check the hair again after 7 days and repeat treatment if live lice are found.
How long should I leave it on?
Lyclear® Crème Rinse should be left on for 10 minutes. Using it for a shorter or longer period than recommended is not advised, as effectiveness may be reduced.
From what age can it be used?
Lyclear® Crème Rinse can generally be used from 6 months of age. Always read the product leaflet before use and seek advice for infants if unsure.
Do I need to repeat the treatment?
Often one treatment is sufficient, but hair should be checked again after 7 days. If live lice are still present, repeat the treatment.
Can the whole family use it?
If head lice are found, all affected household members should be treated on the same day to help prevent re-infestation. Hair of all family members should be checked carefully.
What if I still find lice after treatment?
This may happen because:
- Some eggs hatched after treatment
- The treatment was not applied correctly
- Re-infestation occurred from close contacts
- Not enough product was used
- Combing was incomplete
How often can I use Lyclear® Crème Rinse?
You can use it whenever required for a confirmed head lice infestation, following the package directions. If re-infestation occurs, treatment can be repeated.
Do I still need to comb the hair?
Yes. Thorough combing with a fine-toothed lice comb is an important part of treatment and helps remove dead lice and attached eggs from the hair.
Can head lice become resistant to treatment?
Some insecticide-based treatments, including permethrin products, may be less effective in certain cases due to resistance or incorrect use. If repeated treatments fail, speak with a pharmacist or GP about alternative treatment options.
