Nizoral 2% Antifungal Cream is a pharmacy-supplied antifungal medicine containing Ketoconazole 20mg/g (2% w/w). It is used by adults aged 18 years and over to treat a range of fungal and yeast infections of the skin, including athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, cutaneous candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor and seborrhoeic dermatitis.
This white, non-greasy cream comes in a convenient 30g tube. Nizoral is currently authorised and marketed in Ireland without prescription, but is supplied through pharmacies.
Ketoconazole 20mg/g (2% w/w): an antifungal medicine that acts against fungi and yeasts responsible for susceptible skin infections.
Clean and thoroughly dry the affected skin before application. Apply Nizoral Cream to the affected area and immediately surrounding skin once or twice daily, depending on the condition being treated.
Typical treatment durations are 2–3 weeks for pityriasis versicolor and yeast infections, 2–4 weeks for tinea cruris, 3–4 weeks for tinea corporis and 4–6 weeks for athlete's foot. Seborrhoeic dermatitis is normally treated for 2–4 weeks. Treatment should continue for a few days after symptoms disappear.
Active ingredient: Ketoconazole 20mg per gram.
Other ingredients: Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Sulphite (E221), Isopropyl Myristate.
