The MicroAIR U100 is OMRON’s most portable nebuliser — and the key difference from the rest of the range is its mesh technology. Where compressor nebulisers like the C803 and C28P use a motor-driven pump to force air through liquid medication, the U100 uses a vibrating mesh to create aerosol silently and without a compressor. The result is a device that weighs just 120 g, fits in a pocket, runs on batteries, and makes virtually no noise.
This makes it particularly well suited to children, frequent travellers, and anyone who needs to nebulise discreetly — at work, on public transport, or while lying down. Its 360° operation means it works in any position without medication leaking or performance dropping.
One consideration: its nebulisation rate of > 0.25 ml/min is slower than compressor models, so treatment sessions may take a little longer. For patients who nebulise at home and prioritise speed, a compressor model may be more practical. But for portability, silence, and convenience, the U100 is in a class of its own.
