Panadol 500mg Film-Coated Tablets contain paracetamol, an effective everyday painkiller that also brings down a high temperature. They relieve headache, toothache, backache, muscular and period pain, and the aches, pains and fever of colds and flu. Panadol is gentle on the stomach and, with the OPTIZORB formulation, is absorbed quickly.
Swallow with water, leaving at least four hours between doses.
Do not use if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the ingredients, or if you are taking any other paracetamol-containing medicine.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have liver or kidney problems, drink a lot of alcohol, or are very underweight or malnourished. Tell your doctor if you take flucloxacillin, as combining it with paracetamol carries a risk of a serious blood and fluid problem (metabolic acidosis).
Do not take for longer than three days without advice, and do not exceed the stated dose. If an overdose is taken, seek immediate medical help even if you feel well.
Paracetamol can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding at the recommended dose. Use the lowest dose for the shortest time, and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you need it regularly.
Side effects are rare. Stop use and seek advice if you notice an allergic reaction (rash, itching or swelling) or any unusual bruising or bleeding.
