Robitussin Chesty Cough is a cherry-flavoured expectorant oral solution containing guaifenesin 100mg per 5ml. It is used as an adjunct in the treatment of productive (chesty) coughs, helping to loosen mucus so it can be coughed up more easily.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Take 10ml four times daily. Do not take more than 4 doses in any 24-hour period. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Not suitable for children under 12 years.
If the cough lasts for more than 5 days, returns, or is accompanied by fever, rash or a persistent headache, seek advice from a doctor or healthcare professional.
Do not use Robitussin Chesty Cough if you are allergic to guaifenesin or any other ingredient, or if the person is under 12 years of age.
Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you have a persistent or chronic cough, including a cough associated with smoking, asthma, emphysema or another chronic lung condition.
Do not take alongside another cough and cold medicine.
Excipients to note: this product contains ethanol, sorbitol, maltitol, propylene glycol and sodium benzoate. Check the patient information leaflet if any of these are relevant to you.
