What Is Solpa-Extra?
Solpa-Extra uses a double-action formula — paracetamol and caffeine — to deliver fast, effective pain relief. The effervescent tablet is already dissolved in liquid before reaching your stomach, which is absorbed faster than a solid tablet. Caffeine is included specifically to enhance the pain-relieving effect of paracetamol, not just as a stimulant.

Important Information
- Contains paracetamol — do not take with any other paracetamol-containing product. Exceeding the stated dose may cause serious liver damage.
- Contains 427mg of sodium per tablet — significant if you are on a sodium-restricted diet. Two tablets provide over 850mg of sodium.
- Contains caffeine — be mindful of additional caffeine from coffee, tea, cola, or energy drinks. Consider taking earlier in the day if sensitive to caffeine.
- If you take too much, seek medical advice immediately, even if you feel well — paracetamol overdose can cause delayed liver damage.
Possible Side Effects
Some people may notice mild restlessness or difficulty sleeping, particularly if taken later in the day. Rarely, allergic reactions can occur. If symptoms are severe or persistent, seek medical advice.
Pharmacist's Note
"Solpa-Extra is a good option when you want pain relief to act quickly. The thing I always mention is the sodium content — it's quite high per tablet, so worth being aware of if you're watching your salt intake. I'd also suggest taking it earlier in the day if you're sensitive to caffeine, to avoid it affecting your sleep."

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Solpa-Extra work faster than regular paracetamol?

What's the dose for adults?
1–2 tablets dissolved in water every 4–6 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
How long does the tablet take to dissolve?
Up to 2 minutes.
Why does it contain so much sodium?
Effervescent tablets use sodium as part of the fizzing reaction. At 427mg per tablet, speak to your pharmacist if you are on a low-sodium diet.
Will the caffeine keep me awake?
It's possible if taken later in the day or combined with other caffeine sources. Consider timing your last dose earlier in the day if you're sensitive to caffeine.
Can I take this with other paracetamol products?
No — do not take with any other paracetamol-containing medicine, as this risks exceeding the safe daily limit and can cause serious liver damage.
Can children under 12 take this?
